Our Story

In the heart of the Dolomites, at the highest point of the Pusteria Valley, the story of Pharmacy Dobbiaco begins. Surrounded by pure air, crystal-clear water and the powerful energy of alpine nature, Sandro Barbierato grows up alongside his father, a pharmacist, learning from an early age the values of care, research and respect for nature.

From this tradition a vision is born: to combine pharmaceutical knowledge with the energy of alpine herbs. This is how Pharmacy Dobbiaco takes shape — a project that brings natural Arnica Montana skincare and wellness supplements to the world, while keeping a strong and authentic connection to the Dolomites.

1974

In 1974, in a small mountain village in South TyrolFarmacia Dobbiaco is founded thanks to the vision and determination of Mariagrazia and Dr. Gianangelo Barbierato. After graduating in chemistry and pharmacy and passing the bilingual qualification exam, Dr. Barbierato takes over a pharmaceutical dispensary in Dobbiaco, a village that at the time had just over 1,500 inhabitants.

In this alpine setting, one of the first preparations is created that will later become iconic: the high-concentration Arnica Montana cream, packaged in the characteristic 50 ml jar with the famous red cap. A product born from pharmaceutical expertise and a deep connection to the Dolomites, marking the beginning of a story destined to grow in the years to come.

1996

After graduating in pharmacyDr. Sandro Barbierato returns to South Tyrol to continue the family tradition. He enriches his training with professional experiences in pharmacies in Vipiteno, Bolzano, Chiusa and Brunico, where he deepens his passion for galenic preparations and for attentive, personal customer care.

In 1996, after years of study and experience, the first product of the brand is created: Arnica Forte. Thanks to its very high concentration of Arnica Montana, the product quickly stands out and soon becomes a reference point.

The vision of Gianangelo and Mariagrazia, carried forward and expanded by their son Sandro, gradually leads to the development of a wider range of products. Today it includes natural cosmetics and dietary supplements, always rooted in pharmaceutical expertise and in a strong connection to the Dolomite

2014

Over the years, the Pharmacy Dobbiaco brand takes shape: a product line that brings together Arnica, cosmetics, dietary supplements and traditional specialties such as alpine herbal liqueur.

During this journey, an important collaboration begins with architect Ulla Hell, a loyal customer of the pharmacy, together with her friends from the graphic studio Frei und Zeit in Bressanone. From this creative exchange a new visual identity is born: a new logo inspired by the Three Peaks, along with new labels, botanical illustrations, infographic elements and a complete brand matrix that places Dr. Sandro and the wellbeing of his customers at the center.

This is how the Pharmacy Dobbiaco brand is created — an expression of a vision that combines pharmaceutical tradition, alpine nature and innovation.

In 2014, the online shop is launched, and over the years it becomes a reference point not only for pharmacy customers but also for a growing international audience.

2024

After more than fifty years of pharmaceutical experience and research, the story continues with Pharmacy Dobbiaco. From the tradition of Pharmacy Dobbiaco a new brand is born, bringing the energy of the Dolomites to the world through natural cosmetics and wellness supplements.

Today Pharmacy Dobbiaco combines tradition, innovation and a deep connection to the alpine territory, transforming generations of pharmaceutical knowledge into products that express care, quality and authenticity.

A story that began in a small mountain village and continues to grow, guided by the same passion for health, nature and human wellbeing.
